WACO, Texas -- Rutgers transfer Brooklyn Pope, a former high school standout at Fort Worth Dunbar, has signed with Baylor.
Pope, a 6-foot-1 forward, signed a letter of athletic aid and will begin classes at Baylor in June, Bears coach Kim Mulkey announced Tuesday night.
Pope must sit out the 2009-2010 season and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Pope was one of the top recruits in the country when she signed with Rutgers. She averaged 2.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 6.0 minutes while playing in 29 of Rutgers' 34 games last season.
In high school, she led Dunbar to the 2005 and 2007 Class 4A state championships.
