Players seek more playing time
NORMAN, Okla. -- Two players from Oklahoma's Final Four team are planning to transfer.
Sooners coach Sherri Coale announced Friday that guards Jenny Vining and Rose Hammond plan to leave the team after the spring semester to seek additional playing time.
Vining had struggled with her shot for most of her two seasons at Oklahoma before breaking through late in the regular season while starter Whitney Hand was out with a broken finger. She hit a career-high five 3-pointers for 15 points in a win against Oklahoma State.
She averaged 3.3 points in 35 games while shooting 28 percent from 3-point range.
Hammond scored just seven points all season in limited playing time as the Sooners' third-string point guard.
