UConn, which won its season opener by 70 points against Northeastern (105-35), received all 31 first-place votes in the first regular season ESPN/USA Today coaches poll, released Tuesday.
Stanford (2-0) is second, followed by Ohio State (2-0), North Carolina (1-0) and Tennessee (1-0), which climbed from ninth after beating preseason No. 4 Baylor in its season opener. Baylor fell to No. 9.
Notre Dame (1-0), Arizona State (1-0), Texas A&M (1-0) are next, followed by Baylor and Florida State (1-0).
Duke (1-1), which started the season at No. 6, fell to 12th after losing to Texas A&M. Oklahoma (1-1), No. 8 to start the season, tumbled to No. 16 after losing to Georgia.
