Auriemma selling ties for cancer fight
STORRS, Conn. -- Geno Auriemma plans to auction off the neck ties he wears during the rest of UConn's games this season.
The school says money raised by the auctions will benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
The North Carolina State University women's basketball coach died a year ago after a long fight with breast cancer.
The UConn coach's ties will go up for bid on eBay starting at the beginning of each game. Each auction will last one week after the conclusion of that game.
The first tie to be auctioned will be worn by Auriemma on Tuesday when the top-ranked Huskies (21-0) take on No. 11 West Virginia (20-2) in Hartford.
The UConn women have won 60 consecutive games.
