Our last regular-season game was Feb. 28 and it was Senior Night. It was very sad because I have grown so close to both Anesia and Liz. They will be missed. But it's a great tradition to honor them and I am glad we won our last game (last year on Senior Night, we ended in a tight loss to Duke in front of 13,000 fans). After the game, we had a mini-party for the seniors with the team, coaches and some fans. It was very nice and the food was yum yum.
This week, I decided that I am going to play for the Under-21 Israeli National Team this summer. We will play July 2-7 in Latvia. I love to travel and I have never been there, so I am very, very excited. I want to congratulate my teammate, Crystal Langhorne. She was voted ACC Rookie of the Year by a landslide! And she was named second-team All-ACC as a freshman!! DANG! That is so awesome (although I think she deserved first team). Last weekend, we packed up and headed to Greensboro, N.C., for the ACC tournament. Everyone was talking about what they were going to wear for the banquet. I wore black slacks with a black spaghetti-string silk shirt, a white jacket and some black boots. Crystal Washington, one of my old Maryland teammates, braided my hair ... she caused me much pain, but I was satisfied with the final look. The atmosphere at the tournament was great and our loyal fans were there in bunches, even though it is a 5- or 6-hour drive. This weekend was key for us because we became a team, off and -- especially -- on the court. We beat Clemson in the first round, then had a huge upset over NC State to advance to the semifinals for the second straight year. Although we fell in the semis, I felt like we got tons accomplished, and we have much confidence going into the NCAA Tournament. This Sunday, the Rebounders (our devoted fans) will meet us to watch the Selection Show, so wish us luck!! Until next time ... GO TERPS!
