Baylor 93, Nicholls State 44


WACO, Texas (AP) -- Steffanie Blackmon scored 18 points to lead
six Baylor players in double figures and the Lady Bears beat
Nicholls State 93-44 Saturday night, their second win in two nights
to open the season.

Nicholls State, playing its season opener, led only after
Cristine Burdette made one of her two free throws 13 seconds into
the game.

Blackmon followed with a jumper to start a streak of nine
straight points by Baylor. The Lady Bears led 44-12 by halftime.

Sophia Young had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Baylor. Monique
Jones had 15 points, Ebony Jackson 14, Chameka Scott 11 and Emily
Neimann 10. All nine Baylor players scored and had a rebound, and
none of them played more than 27 minutes.

Marneshia Jones led Nicholls with 10 points.
