Four Cavaliers score in double figures

HONOLULU (AP) -- LaTonya Blue scored 16 points to lead four scorers in double figures, and Virginia upset Arizona (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today; No. 21 Associated Press) 70-65 Friday in the first round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic.

Anna Prillaman added 14 points, Brandi Teamer 13 and Kate Kreager 10 for the Cavaliers (2-1), who shot 50 percent on 27-of-53 shooting.

With Arizona (1-2) trailing 67-65, Blue tipped a pass intended for the Wildcats' Shawntinice Polk and the Cavaliers gained possession of the loose ball with 1:16 remaining. Blue hit a turnaround jumper in the lane on the next play with 54 seconds left to seal the victory.

Polk, who played just five minutes in the first half because of foul trouble, led Arizona with 14 points. Dee-Dee Wheeler added 12.

Virginia used a pair of nine-point runs to pull away from the Wildcats in the first half and led 31-27 at the break. Virginia continued to maintain its lead in the second half, but Arizona kept it close with Polk in the lineup.
