    CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Freshman Ivory Lata and Leah Metcalf each scored 16 points to help No. 13 North Carolina crush UMBC, 76-34.

    Lata, who was named the 2003 Morgan Wootten National Girls High School Basketball Player of the Year, knocked down three 3-point field goals and dished out four assists.

    Metcalf was 4-for-6 from beyond the 3-point arch in her best offensive game of the season for the Lady Tarheels (4-0), who next will face Tennessee-Martin on December 3rd.

    Freshman Camille Little, who entered the contest leading the team in scoring with 15 points per game, chipped in with 12 points and seven rebound for North Carolina, which outscored UMBC 41-13 over the final 20 minutes after opening the half with a 21-5 run.

    Anastasia Goncharova scored a game-high 18 points, including 6 3-point baskets, and was the only player to finish in double digits for UMBC (0-3).

    The Retrievers are 0-2 all-time against the Lady Tarheels and shot just 15 percent (3-for-20) from the floor in the second half.
