SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Kim Smith scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds Tuesday as Utah overpowered Montana 68-42 in women's basketball.

The Utes (10-4) forced Montana into 24 turnovers and kept a 37-26 edge in rebounds.

Utah jumped to a 17-4 lead in the game's first five minutes, but back-to-back 3-pointers from Montana's Katie Edwards and a jumper from Johanna Closson cut their disadvantage to 17-12. But that was as close as Montana (6-5) would come to a lead and Utah led 32-20 at halftime.

Montana scored the second half's first four points to come within 32-24, but the Utes answered with a 7-0 run over the next five minutes. Utah took its largest lead of 68-36 in the final 3 minutes, 43 seconds.

Closson led UM with 11 points and hit 4-of-5 field goals to give her a percentage of almost 94 percent for the season and the Big Sky Conference's top scoring mark. Edwards added 10 points.
