Vandy loses 49-game nonconference home streak

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Rachel Stockdale scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half to help North Carolina State beat Vanderbilt 65-64 on Thursday night.

Caroline Williams' 3-pointer capped a 7-0, game-tying run for Vanderbilt (No. 12 ESPN/USA Today; No. 16 AP), but North Carolina State took the lead for good at 63-61 on Khadijah Whittington's basket with 1:29 to play. Stockdale added a pair of free throws with 6.5 seconds left, and Vanderbilt's Dee Davis completed the scoring with a 3-pointer with a second left.

Whittington finished with 11 points, and Ashley Key had 10 for the Wolfpack (12-2).

Davis led Vanderbilt (11-2) with 13 points, Carla Thomas had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Ashley Earley also scored 12 points.

The loss ended the Commodores' 49-game home nonconference winning streak.
