Wildcats win seventh straight contest vs. Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Kendra Wecker had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 20 Kansas State past Kansas 63-45 on Saturday night.

Laurie Koehn added 17 points, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, for the Wildcats (10-3, 1-1 Big 12).

Kaylee Brown led Kansas (7-6, 0-2) with 13 points and Crystal Kemp had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Kansas jumped out to a 17-8 lead, but Kansas State tied the game at 26 by halftime. The Wildcats led 30-29 early in the second half before a 13-0 run over eight minutes put the game out of reach.

Kansas scored only three field goals in the last seven minutes while the Wildcats extended their lead to as many as 21 points. Kansas shot 33 percent for the game.

Kansas State has won seven straight against its intrastate rival. The last Jayhawks win was Jan. 27, 2001.
