N.C. State 76, Virginia Tech 75 (OT)

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Marquetta Dickens' three-point play with
22 seconds left in overtime gave North Carolina State a 76-75
victory over No. 23 Virginia Tech on Monday night.

Dickens and Kendra Bell each scored 14 points for the Wolfpack
(13-4, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) in a game that featured 18
ties and 22 lead changes. Billie McDowell added 11 points, and
Ashley Key and Tiffany Stansbury had 10 apiece.

Carrie Mason led Virginia Tech (11-4, 1-2) with 14 points, Kirby
Copeland scored 13 and Christie Marrone added 12. Kerri Gardin had
15 rebounds.

The Hokies took a 75-71 lead on Gardin's layup with 1:44 left in
overtime. But McDowell hit a jumper with 1:04 to play and Dickens
followed with a layup as she was fouled. Her free throw put N.C.
State ahead.

The Hokies led 40-35 at halftime but were held scoreless for
more than three minutes after the break as N.C. State reclaimed the
lead.

N.C. State shot 44 percent and the Hokies 45 percent for the
game.
