Smith's double-double her 12th of season

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Jenna Rubino scored 18 points and Khara Smith had 16 points and 14 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season, leading DePaul to an 80-50 victory over Tulane on Friday night.

Smith had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the first period for the Demons (14-3, 3-1 Conference USA), who seized an early lead with a 20-5 run.

Allie Quigley added 12 points, Caprice Smith scored 11 and Erin Carney finished with 10 for DePaul (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today; No. 18 AP).

Reserve Courtney Simmons led Tulane (8-10, 0-5) with 11 points, and Jami Montagnino added 10.

DePaul shot 16-for-32 from the floor in the second half and finished with 53-percent shooting.

After shooting just 28.1 percent during the first, Tulane made 9 of 23 shots in the second.
