PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) -- Sophomore Jill Bell had 15 points and 13
rebounds to lead the Washington Huskies to their 19th consecutive
victory over Washington State 68-61 on Saturday night.
The Huskies (8-11, 4-5 Pac-10) haven't lost to the Cougars
(4-14, 0-9) since Feb. 25, 1995, in Pullman.
The Huskies led 29-26 at halftime although Kristen O'Neill,
their leading scorer with 10.1 points a game, didn't score a point
in the first half. She had four points in the second half.
The teams were virtually even in every statistical category
after the first half.
The Huskies outrebounded the Cougars on the offensive end of the
court 13-3 in the second half, though, allowing them to pull away.
For the game, Washington outrebounded Washington State 52-39.
Kayla Burt connected on four 3-point field goals, finishing with
14 points for Washington.
Washington's Cameo Hicks and Dominique Banks each scored 11
Adrian Ferguson led the Cougars with 16 points. Keisha Moore had
12 and Emma Joneby added 10.
