WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton scored a career-high 19 points and Katie Gearlds added 19 points and six assists to lead Purdue (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP) to a 79-75 victory over No. 22 Iowa on Sunday.
Gearlds scored 17 of her 19 in the second half, including three 3-pointers that helped the Boilermakers erase a seven-point deficit and snap their longest losing streak in five years.
Jamie Cavey had 22 points and six rebounds for Iowa (14-4, 3-4 Big Ten), which has lost four of its last five games after getting off to its best start in 17 years by winning the first 13 games of the season.
In a back-and-forth game, Purdue got a rare 10-2 run midway through the second half to take a 64-58 lead.
The Hawkeyes came unglued, turning the ball over and struggling to put together good possessions on offense. The committed 22 turnovers in the game and were outscored in the paint for just the fourth time this season, 42-32.
Wisdom-Hylton turned two steals into fastbreak layups and scored eight points in a row for the Boilermakers (11-7, 4-3), who led 66-60 with 4:30 to play.
Traore scored a career-high 16 points and Lawless added 17 points and nine rebounds for Purdue, which may have avoided falling out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since 1997-98 with the win.
Smith had 21 points, six assists and five rebounds and Armstrong scored all 12 of her points on four 3-pointers for Iowa.
