TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Shawntinice Polk scored 11 points and sank
two clutch free throws with 28 seconds remaining as Arizona beat
Arizona State 56-49 Wednesday night.
The Wildcats (15-5, 7-3 Pac-10) used a 17-0 run in the second
half to take control of the game and then held off Arizona State
Trailing 46-32 with 6:50 remaining, the Sun Devils closed to
52-49 on Emily Westerberg's 3-pointer with 56 seconds left.
Polk, a 56 percent free-throw shooter on the season, made her
foul shots before Jessica Arnold sealed the win with two free
throws with 13 seconds to play.
Arnold finished with 14 points.
Westerberg had 12 points to pace Arizona State, which led 27-23
at halftime but made only three field goals in the second half.
Kylan Loney added 10 points for the Sun Devils and became her
school's all-time leader in 3-pointers made with 134.
