EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Brandi Davis came off the bench to score a
game high 28 points and Corrie Mizusawa added 11 as Oregon defeated
UCLA 78-71 on Thursday.
Lisa Willis led the Bruins with 24 points and six rebounds,
while Amanda Livingston and Nikki Blue scored 15 each.Oregon (13-6, 6-4 Pac-10) used a 15-2 run midway through the
second half to build a 58-48 lead. Davis had two 3-pointers, a
steal and a lay-up during in the spurt as the Ducks took the lead
for good.The Bruins (12-7, 6-4) cut the advantage to 70-66 with three
minutes remaining, but the Ducks held on despite missing six of 14
free throws in the final minutes.The Ducks dominated the Bruins on the boards, outrebounding them
50-30. UCLA, however, collected 11 steals to keep the game close.Oregon trailed by as many as nine in the first half before
taking a 33-31 lead into the break.
