FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Melissa Dennett had 22 points and eight rebounds and reserve Sara Hunter added 12 points as Colorado State held off a 3-point barrage to beat Wyoming 61-51 Friday night.Dennett made her first six shots before finishing 9-for-10. Hunter was 4-for-4 on 3-pointers as Colorado State (12-6, 3-2 Mountain West Conference) won its third straight.It was nothing compared to the perimeter attack of Wyoming (12-6, 3-2) which abandoned its inside game, scoring eight points in the paint while making only 10-of-41 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc. Ashley Elliott was 5-for-13 on 3-pointers and finished with 28 points for Wyoming.Elliott managed only three free throws in the last 7:50 after hitting a 3-pointer to get Wyoming within 46-44. Dennett answered with a short jumper, and her two free throws with 2:55 left ended an 11-2 run for Colorado State to make it 57-46.Wyoming was 0-for-4 from the field the rest of the way.Dennett's basket at the buzzer put Colorado State ahead 33-31 at the break. Wyoming had led 22-19 as Hanna Zavecz connected on a pair of 3-pointers in an 11-0 run, but Colorado State closed the half with an 11-0 run of its own.
