TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Shay Doron converted a crucial three-point play in overtime and finished with 26 points, leading Maryland (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) to an 84-77 victory over Arizona on Saturday night.
Crystal Langhorne scored with 1:18 remaining in the extra session to give Maryland (14-5) a 77-75 lead, and the Terrapins finally seized control on Doron's three-point play with 40 seconds left.
Maryland's Jade Perry connected on an 8-foot jumper at the buzzer to force the extra period.
Doron also had four free throws in overtime, and the Terrapins got 20 points and 16 rebounds from Langhorne. It was Langhorne's fifth double-double in seven games. Kalika France added 17 points.
Shawtinice Polk had 19 points to lead Arizona (15-6). Jessica Arnold added 18 points, while Danielle Adefeso, Natalie Jones and Ashley Whisonant each finished with 11.
Trailing 67-60 with 1:16 remaining, Arizona got a layup by Dee-Dee Wheeler and then a four-point play from Jones to close within one.
Jones then hit a deep 3-pointer from the corner to give Arizona a 69-67 lead with 3.2 seconds left. After two passes were batted out of bounds, Perry connected on a shot that was reviewed by officials.
