    Coggins adds career-high 25 for Wildcats

    BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Kendra Wecker had 28 points and 10 rebounds and Claire Coggins added a career-high 25 points to lead No. 16 Kansas State past Colorado 81-70 on Saturday.

    Wecker, the Big 12 Conference's leading scorer, had 21 second-half points and finished 11-of-19 from the field. Coggins had five 3-pointers for Kansas State (16-3, 7-1 Big 12), winners of seven straight.

    The Wildcats finished 11 of 24 from beyond the arc.

    Jasmina Ilic led Colorado (8-10, 1-6) with 21 points and Veronica Johns-Richardson had 20.

    Kansas State never trailed in the second half, but its lead dwindled to 53-51 on a basket by Jackie McFarland midway through the half. Colorado had a chance to tie it, but Sarah Lini missed both free-throw attempts and Kansas State went on an 11-0 run. Coggins made two 3-pointers in the spurt to push the lead to 64-51.

    Jackie McFarland had three points in a 6-0 run that got Colorado within 64-57 with 5:22 left, but Wecker -- who averages 21-points -- made a putback and 3-pointer.

    Coggins had a three-point play and Wecker added four points in the final 3:27.

    Kansas State started slowly, committing five turnovers in the first seven minutes.The Wildcats fell behind 31-23 on Ilic's 3-pointer, which capped a 7-0 Colorado run.

    Chelsea Domenico and Coggins then added 3-pointers to help Kansas State to a 37-34 halftime lead.
