Boilermakers snap 4-game road losing streak

EVANSTON, Ill. (SportsTicker) -- Even with its recent struggles, 24th-ranked Purdue still played well enough to defeat Northwestern again.

Erin Lawless and Katie Gearlds each scored 17 points as the Boilermakers held on for a 68-65 victory over the Wildcats in a Big Ten Conference game.

Purdue (12-8, 5-4 Big Ten), which had lost four of its last five games, shot 50 percent (15-of-30) in the second half en route to its 14th consecutive victory over Northwestern.

Senior Suzanne Morrison, who was playing in her first game since suffering a knee injury on Dec. 14, scored 18 points off the bench for the Wildcats.

Sarah Kwasinski added 13 points and five blocks and Sara Stutz chipped in 10 points for Northwestern, which has lost four of its last five games.
