SEATTLE (AP) -- Cameo Hicks scored 14 points as Washington
defeated Oregon 81-57 Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies' 12-0 run to start the second half blew the game
wide open as Washington (11-14, 7-8) avenged an earlier loss this
season in Eugene, Ore.
The Ducks (16-7, 9-5) struggled throughout the game as
Washington converted 24 offensive rebounds into 25 second-chance
points. The Huskies also scored 20 points from 20 Oregon turnovers.
Dominique Banks scored 13 points for the Huskies, winners of
five of the last six against Oregon.
Kristen Forristall scored a game-high 19 points for the Ducks,
who snapped a four-game winning streak. Brandi Davis had just seven
points, on 3-of-14 shooting.
The Huskies, who were dismal in shooting for mos of the season,
have now reached at least 80 points a game in four of their last
Washington led at halftime, 41-34, behind nine points from
Banks. The Huskies built their lead by coverting free throws, 10
straight to start the game, while Oregon was just 7-of-13 from the
line in the first half.
Washington's leading scorer, Kayla Burt, left the game at just
past the midway point following an elbow from the Ducks' Andrea
Bills. She has a broken nose and did not return to the game, said
Erin Rowley, Huskies spokeswoman.
Oregon's leading rebounder and scorer, Cathrine Kraayeveld,
missed the entire game because she had a viral infection in her
left elbow, Rowley said.
