Spartan's Haynie moves up in Big 10 history

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Lindsay Bowen scored 18 points and Victoria
Lucas-Perry added 17, leading No. 9 Michigan State past Wisconsin
84-60 Sunday.

Liz Shimek had 13 points and nine rebounds, and Rene Haynes
scored 12 points as the Spartans (22-3, 11-2 Big Ten) pulled within
one victory of tying the school record for wins in a season, set in
1976-77.

Michigan State's Kristin Haynie had eight points, eight
rebounds, seven assists and three steals. She became the fourth
player in Big Ten history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500
assists and 300 steals for her career. She joined Purdue's Katie
Douglas, Ohio State's Yvette Angel and Wisconsin's Tamara Moore.

Haynie recorded her 500th career assist early in the game and
now has 505, along with 1,056 points, 525 rebounds and 307 steals.

Jolene Anderson had 19 points to lead Wisconsin (10-12, 4-8),
which shot 34 percent. Lucas-Perry scored all 17 of her points in
the first half as Michigan State took a 43-26 halftime lead.

Michigan State, which never trailed, held Wisconsin without a
field goal for 6:24 late in the first half.

Wisconsin used an 8-0 run to pull to 52-41 with 14:22 remaining.
But Bowen, who missed eight of her 10 shots in the first half, hit
back-to-back 3-pointers to spark a 14-0 run.
