Montana 59, Portland State 54

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Hollie Tyler had 17 points, nine rebounds
and five blocked shots Saturday afternoon and Montana held off a
late rally to beat Portland State 59-54.

Montana (18-7, 11-1 Big Sky) appeared to have the game in hand
early in the second half. The Lady Griz opened the second half with
a 17-5 run to take a 46-26 lead with 11:43 remaining.

After a free throw by Johanna Closson with 8:50 remaining made
it 48-30, Portland State (2-22, 0-12) went on a 20-5 run to pull
within 53-50. During that 6:47, Montana made just 2-of-8 shots from
the field and had six turnovers.

Katie Edwards, who also finished with 17 points, ended the PSU
run with two free throws to put UM up 55-50 with 1:30 remaining.

Montana closed the first half with a 15-4 run to take a 29-21
halftime lead. Tyler had 14 points, seven rebounds and three
blocked shots in the first half.

Heidi Stuart led Portland State with 14 points and eight
rebounds while Heather Arns added 13 points and eight steals.
