Blue Demons' 14-game winning streak snapped

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Ticker) -- Sandora Irvin scored 24
points and pulled down 13 rebounds as TCU upset No.
11 and top seed DePaul in the semifinals of the Conference USA
Tournament, 87-77.

Irvin shot 3-of-6 from the arc and collected six offensive
rebounds as the Horned Frogs shot 48 percent (15-of-31) in the
second half to snap the Blue Demons' 14-game winning streak.

Trailing, 70-69, with 10:22 to play, TCU (22-9) closed the game
with an 18-7 run, including six points from guard Natasha Lacy,
to advance into its third consecutive championship game in the
Conference USA Tournament. After capturing the title in 2003,
the Horned Frogs where beaten by Houston last year, 86-75.

Ashley Davis scored 16 points and Niki Newton added 13 for TCU,
which held a 42-36 rebounding edge, including 21 on the
offensive end.

Jenni Dant scored 22 points and Khara Smith added 19 and 11
rebounds for DePaul (25-4), which committed 19 turnovers in its
first loss since January 9.

The fourth seed, TCU next will face No. 2 Louisville, which beat
Houston earlier Saturday, 56-48.
