Zags will face Loyola in title game

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- Anne Bailey scored 19 of her career-high 21 points in the second half to lift No. 24 Gonzaga past Pepperdine 58-40 Saturday in the West Coast Conference semifinals.

No one else reached double figures for the Bulldogs (27-2), who extended their nation-best winning streak to 23 games.

Gonzaga will face Santa Clara, a 73-64 winner over Loyola Marymount, in the championship game Sunday.

Jennifer Lacy had 19 points for Pepperdine (12-17), which shot 19.4 percent in the first half.

Gonzaga guard Shannon Mathews left with an apparent right ankle injury with 10:13 remaining in the first half and did not return. Mathews, who averages 12 points, went scoreless for the first time since last year's conference tournament game against the Waves.

Pepperdine scored the first eight points of the second half -- all in the paint -- to take a 23-16 lead. Gonzaga regained the lead for good at 30-27 when Bailey completed a three-point play. The Bulldogs went on a 23-5 run to pull ahead by 15 with less than 7 minutes left.

Gonzaga led 16-15 at the break. It marked the fewest points in a half for either team this season.
