TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Cameo Hicks and Dominique Banks each scored 13 points to lead Washington to a 56-52 victory over Alabama in both teams' season opener on Friday.The Huskies (1-0) shot just 27.9 percent from the field, but forced the Crimson Tide (0-1) to commit 19 turnovers. Hicks led Washington with nine rebounds, while Banks added six and Kristen O'Neill added 12 points and five rebounds."We are excited to come down here and get a win against a very good SEC team," UW head coach June Daugherty said. "This is a team that is extremely athletic, extremely well coached and we knew we would have our hands full. We feel privileged to come out of here with a win."The score was tied twice with just under five minutes left in the game, but the Huskies pulled away each time.The game stopped for several minutes at the 11:27 minute mark after Alabama's Navonda Moore suffered an apparent neck injury. Moore was taken away on a stretcher for immediate medical attention.Lauren Hill led Alabama, with 17 points. She also had nine rebounds while Dee Merriweather added a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
