MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Amber Wirth scored 17 points and Long Island University pulled away to beat San Francisco 61-46 Sunday in the consolation game of the Subway Classic.

Sonya Coleman added 14 points, Sara Oblak 11 and Marquita Thompson 10 for the Blackbirds (1-1), which opened the second half with a 13-2 run for a 36-23 lead.

San Francisco scored the next 12 points, capped by a Jennifer Jones layup, to cut the lead to one, but 3-pointers by Coleman and Wirth sandwiched a basket by the Dons' Nickie Warren for a 42-37 Long Island lead with 8:00 to play. Another 3-pointer by Wirth, who is from nearby Hastings, made it 51-41 as the Blackbirds, who shot 54.5 percent in the second half, began to widen the lead.

Warren led San Francisco (0-2) with nine points; Jones finished with eight.
