MISSOULA (AP) -- Katie Edwards led five players in double figures
with 16 points Tuesday in Montana's 83-49 victory over Rocky
Mountain College.

Laura Cote and Dana Conway each added 14 points for Montana
(2-0), while Tamara Guardipee had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Sonya
Rogers finished with 11 points and five assists.

Gretchen Wall led Rocky (1-7), an NAIA team, with 17 points
while Stephanie Neubauer had 10 rebounds and four assists.

Two early 3-pointers by Wall and Lori Jo Neubauer gave Rocky a
6-4 lead with 18:08 remaining, but a layup by Jody McLeod tied the
score at 6 with less than five minutes into the game and Montana
never trailed again.

A 3-pointer by Conway gave the Lady Griz a 26-14 lead with 8:02
left in the first half and Montana built as much as a 40-18 lead on
a basket by Edwards with 2:47 left in the half. Montana led 44-28
at the break.

Rocky got within 58-44 on a layup by Jeri Matter with 11:29
remaining, but the Lady Griz built their lead up to as many as 36
points before Wall hit a jumper with two seconds to play.

Montana shot nearly 48 percent from the field to 29 percent for
Rocky and outrebounded the Lady Bears 49-34.
