NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Caroline Williams scored a career-high
19 points to lead Vanderbilt (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) to an 80-29 victory over
Alabama A&M on Tuesday night.
Liz Sherwood added 17 points for Vanderbilt (3-1).
Kim Pratcher had six points to lead Alabama A&M, which finished
with 26 turnovers.
Vanderbilt charged to an 18-0 lead and was ahead 36-8 at the
break. Williams scored nine points in the opening period.
Pratcher's short jumper at 10:21 was Alabama A&M's first basket.
The Bulldogs (0-1) shot 3-for-21 in the first half and committed 14
Williams hit a 3-pointer 3 minutes into the second half to give
Vanderbilt a 47-8 lead.
The Commodores took their largest lead, 80-27, on a pair of free
throws by Erica Grimaldi with 1:47 remaining.
