STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Jillian Robbins scored 28 points and
Megan Moody hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer in double overtime to help
lift Tulsa to a 75-68 win Saturday against Oklahoma State in the
Bertha Teague Classic.
The Golden Hurricane (4-1) scored the final nine points of the
game, including Moody's 3-pointer that gave Tulsa a 71-68 lead.
Whitney Pegram, who scored 32 to lead Oklahoma State (1-4),
missed two free throws at the other end, and Dana Idlet stretched
Tulsa's lead to five points with a layup.
Robbins scored back-to-back baskets to give Tulsa a 58-57 lead
with 1:38 to play in regulation, but gave the Cowgirls the chance
to tie the game when her inbounds pass hit off the bottom of the
basket to Oklahoma State's Destanie Sykes.
Sykes hit one of two free throws with 34.6 seconds left to tie
the game. After a steal by Shaunte Smith, Pegram missed a
turnaround jumper at the end of regulation.
Robbins also scored the first four points in overtime, but
Pegram -- who scored all six of Oklahoma State's points in overtime
-- tied the game at 64 with a transition basket with 32.9 seconds
left, but she missed a free throw that would have given the
Cowgirls the lead.
Tulsa failed to get a shot off in either of its two possessions
in the final 32.9 seconds of overtime, and Oklahoma State's
Catherria Turner lost the ball out of bounds on Oklahoma State's
The Cowgirls led 53-46 after Turner's two free throws with 7:05
left in regulation, but Robbins and Kara Pongonis scored 11 of
Tulsa's next 12 points to push the Golden Hurricane into the lead.
