Murphy scores 22, makes key steal to lift USC

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Eshaya Murphy's offense gave Southern
Cal a lead, but it was her defense that ultimately sealed a
victory for the Women of Troy.

Murphy scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead No. 25
Southern Cal to a 65-62 victory over TCU.

A junior guard, Murphy made 8-of-15 shots from the floor,
including 5-of-9 from 3-point range. She also had two steals,
but none bigger than her final one.

After TCU's Natasha Lacy made a jumper to bring the Horned Frogs
(2-4) within 63-62 with 21 seconds to go, Chloe Kerr made two
free throws with 2.3 seconds left to restore a three-point game.

Murphy, who averages a team-high 3.2 steals per game, swiped the
ensuing inbounds pass to bring an end to USC's two-game skid.

Meghan Gnekow added 12 points and six rebounds and Camile LeNoir
chipped in 11 points off the bench for the Women of Troy (3-2),
who shot under 36 percent (23-of-64) and committed 21

Lacy was the most impressive player in the game, collecting 15
