SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Hawaii downed San Francisco 71-63 Thursday night in the Rainbow Wahine's first regular-season non-conference road game in more than a decade.

The Rainbow Wahine trailed the Dons by five points, 35-30, at intermission before hitting 44 percent of their shots in the second half.

Pam Tambini had 20 points and Janevia Taylor added 16 to help Hawaii improve to 4-2. Teammate Brittany Grice had 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Dominique Carter led San Francisco (2-6) with 18 points.

Hawaii made eight of its 20 3-point shots, while the Dons missed all five of theirs.

The last time the Rainbow Wahine traveled to the mainland before Western Athletic Conference play was during the 1993-94 season when they lost at Oregon State.

Hawaii continues its road trip Saturday at Santa Clara.
