    MISSOULA (AP) -- Mandy Morales went 18-for-21 in free throws and scored 27 points to lead the Montana women's basketball team to an 83-74 victory over Miami Friday.

    Morales' 18 free throw makes tied the Big Sky Conference record, set by Idaho State's Molly Hays last February.

    Morales added nine rebounds, six assists and four steals, playing 31 minutes in her first career start.

    Miami (7-2) had its largest lead of the game, 15-10, with 14:07 remaining in the first half after Melissa Knight converted a three-point play.

    Montana (6-2) came back to score seven straight points, and the Lady Griz wouldn't trail again. Montana led 44-31 at halftime.

    Johanna Closson scored 16 points for UM and went 9-for-10 at the free throw line. Dana Conway had 13 points, and senior Jody McLeod added 10, going 3-for-3 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line.

    The Hurricanes had five players in double figures, led by Renee Taylor's 18 points.
