    LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Morenike Atunrase scored 18 points to lead Texas A&M over Detroit 72-54 in the first round of the Duel in the Desert tournament Saturday night.

    The Aggies (5-2) will face host UNLV in the championship Sunday.

    Tamea Scales, Takia Starks and Danielle Gant had 10 points apiece for Texas A&M, and Erica Roy led her team with five rebounds and three steals.

    Katie Solner led Detroit (2-8) with 14 points.

    Texas A&M trailed 26-23 late in the first half but went on a 26-8 run bridging both halves for a 49-34 lead with 12:28 remaining.

    Detroit was held to 29 percent shooting in the second half, 35 percent for the game.
