No. 16 DePaul puts up 99 points against lowly St. Francis

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Khara Smith and a fast start left DePaul with an easy night.

Smith scored 21 points and four others reached double figures as the Blue Demons rolled to a 99-61 win over St. Francis of Pennsylvania.

In surpassing the 1,800-point plateau for her career, Smith shot 9-of-12 from the floor and made all three of her free throws. Erin Cattell was 9-of-10 from the line and Ciara Johnson 6-of-6 from the floor to contribute 15 and 14 points off the bench, respectively.

Smith's three-point play gave DePaul (10-1) a 16-2 lead less than four minutes in and the bulge reached 29-5 on a 3-pointer by Missy Mitidiero, who had 11 points, later in the first half.

The Blue Demons made 18 field goals in the first half while the Red Flash (0-9) attempted only 19 in falling behind, 48-17.

Whitney Robinson scored 12 points and Danielle Hibbard had 10 for St. Francis. Leading scorer Amber Hein was limited to eight on 1-of-13 shooting and had three of the Red Flash's 26 turnovers.
