PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Meagan Bermingham had 19 points, 10
rebounds and six assists Saturday afternoon and Portland broke a
two-game losing streak with an 88-69 victory over winless Montana
Rachel Warren also had 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds for
Portland (3-5), which had five players in double figures.
Portland used a 9-0 run over a three-minute period in the second
half, pulling away from a 41-39 lead to a 53-39 lead with 13:42
remaining. Rose Sauer had six of her eight points during that run.
Montana State (0-8) couldn't get any closer than 13 points the
rest of the way. Portland led by as many has 23 points.
The Bobcats' largest lead was four points, the last time at
16-12 on a 3-pointer by Alyssa Nelson about eight minutes into the
game. Portland led 36-28 at halftime.
Scotta Morton made six 3-pointers and led Montana State with 18
points, while Nelson had 13 and Amanda DeHaan added 10 points and
The Bobcats were called for 21 fouls to 12 for Portland and the
Pilots made 24-of-26 free throws.
