Boilermakers wallop Centenary

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Erin Lawless scored 16 of her 18 points in the first half to help Purdue (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) beat Centenary 70-48 on Monday night.

The Boilermakers (7-2) led by 10 at halftime, then opened the second half with a 13-2 run to break the game open and win their third straight.

Purdue played tough defense, holding Centenary to 31 percent shooting and forcing 21 turnovers. The Boilermakers have forced seven of their nine opponents into at least 20 turnovers and entered allowing an average of just 56 points.

Van'esha Brabson had 15 points and Holli Wilkins added 14 for Centenary (1-8), which has lost six straight.

Aya Traore scored 13 points for Purdue.
