    COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Tamea Scales had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Texas A&M past Utah State 81-55 Wednesday night.

    Scales, who had her third double-double of the season, was 7-of-8 shooting in the second half, when she had 17 points and seven rebounds for A&M (9-2). Takia Sparks added 20 points and combined with Scales to make 18 of 26 shots.

    Taylor Richards led Utah State (1-8) with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, but she had 10 turnovers. Texas A&M scored 32 points off 26 Utah State turnovers.

    The game was close midway through the first half before Texas A&M went on a 35-4 run for a 46-19 halftime lead. Danielle Gant had 12 points and a season-high seven assists off the bench.
