NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Caroline Williams scored 21 points -- all
on 3-pointers -- to lead Vanderbilt (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) to a 92-66 victory over William & Mary on Friday night.
Liz Sherwood added 18 points, Tina Wirth had 13 and Rachel Brockman 10 for the Commodores, who finished with 14 3-pointers, one short of the school record.
Kyra Kaylor led William & Mary with 19 points, and Jalen Boone added 11.
Williams hit six of Vanderbilt's nine 3s in the opening period as the Commodores (10-3) took a 47-24 halftime lead. Overall, Vanderbilt hit 17 of 31 shots from the floor in the first half.
William & Mary (4-5) missed 10 of its first 11 shots and trailed 14-2 less than 7 minutes into the game. From there, the Tribe never trailed by less than 10 the rest of the game.
Vanderbilt extended its halftime margin to 63-30 with 14 minutes remaining on Wirth's 3.
