MISSOULA (AP) -- Sophomore Johanna Closson scored 18 points and freshman Tamara Guardipee had a double-double by the half to lead Montana to a 72-54 exhibition victory over Deja Vu on Sunday.

Julie Deming led Deja Vu, a collection of former Lady Griz standouts, with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Deja Vu led by as many as seven points in the first half, taking a 23-16 lead at 7:35 on a Deming jumper. But the Lady Griz scored eight straight points to take a 24-23 lead with 5:12 left in the half. The game was tied 32-32 at the halfway point.

Deja Vu took a three-point lead early in the second half, but Closson hit a 3-point shot to tie the score at 35-35. Guardipee hit a jumper on Montana's next possession, and the Lady Griz would not trail again.

The lead reached its largest margin of the game -- 18 points -- when sophomore Dana Conway put Montana up 60-49 with 7:09 to play. Conway finished with nine points, while Guardipee had 13 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and three steals.

Montana shot 33.8 percent and limited Deja Vu to 31.3 percent shooting. The Lady Griz also outrebounded Deja Vu, grabbing 59 boards compared with Deja Vu's 38.

Montana opens its regular season on Friday at Utah State.
