COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- A'Quonesia Franklin scored 21
points, including three free throws in the final 25 seconds, to
lead Texas A&M to a 65-64 victory over Rice Monday night.
Franklin got 16 of her 21 points in the second half. She had
left the game late in the first half after colliding with teammate
Erica Roy while the two went for a loose ball. Roy did not return
to the game.Danielle Gant came off the bench to score 15 for the Aggies
(11-2) and lead the team with eight rebounds.Rice led 35-34 at the half, but the Aggies took the lead for
good early in the second half on a Franklin steal and layup during
a 15-7 run.Krystal Frazier kept the Owls (4-7) in the game with 15 points,
including 7-for-8 free throw shooting. Lauren Neaves added 12
points and had 14 rebounds. Valeriy Berezhynska scored 10 points.The Aggies scored 26 points off turnovers, while Rice managed
