OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Tasha Humphrey had 29 points and Megan
Darrah added 18 to lead Georgia (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today; No. 17 AP) to an 84-70 victory over
Mississippi on Thursday night.
Sherill Baker and Cori Chambers had 12 points apiece for the
Bulldogs (10-3, 1-0 Southeastern Conference), who shot 47 percent
and hit 12 3-pointers.Mississippi cut it to 55-52 with 13:25 left on a free throw by
Shawn Goff, but Georgia countered with a 15-2 run during the next 3
minutes to push its lead into double digits for good.A 3-pointer by Chambers with 4:24 left in the first half put
Georgia ahead to stay, giving the Bulldogs a 29-28 lead.Danetra Forest had 12 points and Ashley Awkward and Carla Bartee
each had 11 for the Rebels (10-4, 0-1), who have lost three of
four.Ole Miss was seeking its third home victory over a ranked
opponent this season and its third straight victory over Georgia in
Oxford. Earlier this season, the Rebels beat ranked Texas Tech and
