SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Mallary Gillespie's putback at the buzzer
lifted BYU over No. 22 Utah 61-60 on Saturday.
BYU (12-1, 2-0 Mountain West Conference) was trailing 60-59 when
Ambrosia Anderson missed a 20-footer with 2 seconds left. Gillespie
grabbed the rebound and scored as time expired.
Ambrosia finished with 13 points and Dani Kubik added 9 points
and 11 rebounds.
Kim Smith had 14 points and eight rebounds for Utah (9-4, 0-2).
The final six minutes of the game featured 11 lead changes, as
neither team was able to open up more than a 2-point lead.
The two teams combined for 46 3-point attempts. Utah made nine
and BYU made 10.
