ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Aya Traore scored 13 points and Lindsay
Wisdom-Hylton scored six points during a key stretch to lead No. 14
Purdue to a 51-43 win over Michigan on Sunday.
The Boilermakers (12-2, 4-0 Big Ten) won their eighth straight,
hanging on after leading by as many as 14 in the second half.
The Wolverines (6-10, 0-4), led by Katie Dierdorf's 10 points,
cut the deficit to 43-41 with 3:15 left. But Purdue, which went
more than 5 minutes without scoring, used Wisdom-Hylton's strong
play in the final minutes to help seal the win.
Purdue led by as many as 11 points in the first half and limited
Michigan to only 16 first-half points. The Wolverines were hampered
by 12 turnovers and 21.7 percent (5-of-23) shooting from the field.
Michigan went nearly 8 minutes between its first and second field
goals, falling behind 11-2.
Despite the offensive troubles, Michigan trailed by only two
points with 5:07 remaining in the half. But the Boilermakers ended
the first half on a 14-5 run to take a 27-16 halftime lead.
