PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Candice Dupree scored 18 points to lead Temple (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 19 AP) to a 74-65 win over St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
Kamesha Hairston had 15 points and Jennifer Owens added 13 for
Temple (12-4, 4-1 Atlantic 10), which defeated the Bonnies for the
eighth straight time.The Owls built a quick double-digit lead in the first half and
extended it to 17 when Fatima Maddox hit a 3-pointer just before
the halftime buzzer for a 42-25 advantage.Audrey Latendresse led the Bonnies (7-9, 1-4) with 19 points,
while Ashley Edwards added 15 points and 14 rebounds. Priscilla
Edwards had 14.Temple extended its lead to 54-33 on a basket by Hairston with
14:22 remaining. St. Bonaventure cut the lead to eight points twice
in the final 1:08.The lead whittled to 71-63, Temple's Khadija Bowens then hit
1-of-2 free throws and added a steal and layup.
