EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Kaela Chapdelaine scored a career-high 18
points to lift Oregon to an 81-73 win over Washington on Saturday.
Chelsea Wagner and Gabrielle Richards added 13 points apiece for
the Ducks (12-6 overall, 3-5 Pac-10), who shot 56 percent from the
field, including 12-of-20 on 3-point attempts.Cameo Hicks led Washington (13-5, 6-3) with 16 points. Andrea
Plouffe and Jill Bell each had 13 points and Cheri Craddock added
11 for the Huskies.The first half turned into a 3-point shooting contest, with the
Huskies connecting on 8-of-15 shots from 3-point range and Oregon
hitting 7-of-10.Hicks hit a 3-pointer just before the buzzer to give Washington
a 46-40 halftime lead. But the Huskies missed 12 of their first 13
shots in the second half, and Oregon surged to a 57-49 lead on
back-to-back 3-pointers by Chapdelaine and Brandi Davis.Chapdelaine, who reached double figures for the first time in
her career, hit another 3-pointer with 6:48 left to push the Oregon
lead to 69-59.A Dominique Banks jumper cut the lead to 69-63, but the Ducks
scored eight of the next 10 points to pull away.
