FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Rochelle Vaughn's 3-point shooting
powered a recovery from a 5-point deficit and gave Arkansas its
first lead of the second half on the way to a 60-58 victory Sunday
over Mississippi State.
Vaughn finished with a game-high 22 points, including 6-of-13
from long distance.The Lady Bulldogs (6-13, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) led 28-26
at intermission, and were up 5 points, 33-28, two minutes into the
second half.But Vaughn hit three 3-pointers over the next four minutes and
the Lady Razorbacks (12-6, 4-1) went ahead 39-38. After a tie at 40
each, Melissa Hobbs gave Arkansas the lead by hitting two free
throws.Arkansas led by as many as 8 points until the Lady Bulldogs
fought back to get a brief lead, 55-53, when Doceide Warren hit a
3-pointer with 1:59 remaining.Brittney Vaughn tied the score with a layup at 0:32.5, and was
fouled as she made the basket. She hit the front end of a
one-and-one to put Arkansas ahead for good.Leslie Howard added 19 points for Arkansas.The Lady Bulldogs were led by Robin Porter and Miayorka Johnson,
with 11 points each, while Warren finished with 10.
