Weber State 50, Montana 49

MISSOULA (AP) -- Freshman Janie Rayback came off the bench to
score 13 points, including a layup with 17.1 seconds remaining, to
lift Weber State to a 50-49 victory over Montana Thursday night.

Weber State (10-9, 4-2 Big Sky) used an 11-0 run to build a
44-33 lead on a layup by Tashina Taylor with 9:31 remaining.

Montana (14-5, 3-3) answered with a 13-0 run -- the final seven
points by Mandy Morales -- to take a 46-44 lead with 3:30 to play.

A basket by Rayback tied the score at 46 with 3:16 remaining and
a layup by Taylor at the 2:40 to play gave Weber the lead again at
48-46.

Johanna Closson hit a 3-pointer to put Montana up 49-48 with
2:17 remaining and both teams missed shots on their next two
possessions before Rayback's game-winner.

Montana had two more chances to score, but Morales missed a
3-pointer with 12 seconds to play and Closson missed a jumper at
the buzzer.

Taylor also had 13 points for Weber State, which hadn't won in
Missoula since 2003.

Morales led Montana with 16 points and seven rebounds, but the
Lady Griz shot just under 29 percent from the field during the
game.

The score was tied at 27 at halftime.
