ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Candice Dupree had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 19 Temple to a 62-43 win over Saint Louis on Friday night.Kamesha Hairston added 11 points and Fatima Maddox 10 for Temple (18-5, 9-2 Atlantic 10), which has won four straight and eight of nine. The Owls limited Saint Louis to 15-of-50 shooting.Tyler McIlwraith scored 12 points for the Billikens (5-17, 2-9). Maddox entered the game averaging 6.7 points, but she provided the offense when Temple needed it most.The Owls led by six at halftime, but Saint Louis began to chip away and took the lead at 36-35 with 10:55 left when McIlwraith hit a long, 3-pointer from the right wing. Maddox promptly answered with a 3 from the left of the key to give the Owls the lead back at 38-36.Brittany Artis made a couple of foul shots to tie it at 38 before Maddox hit another 3-pointer from almost the same spot to give Temple a 41-38 advantage. That basket started a 17-2 run that put the game away.After McIlwraith scored inside off a pick to cut it to 15-13 with 9:49 left in the first half, Temple reeled off the next 11 points. Dupree had six points during the surge, including a pull-up jumper with 5:45 to play that made it 26-13.Dupree's basket was Temple's last points of the half. Saint Louis went on a 7-0 run before the break to cut it to 26-20. Marquita McFarland finished off the spurt with a basket with 23 seconds left.
